The issue
Gender Inequality
In many third world countries, not a lot of girls are getting equal amounts of education as boys. Girls are expected to start a family of their own and assume to be responsible for nursing and caring because of cultural and traditional stereotypes. Unfortunately, girls are thought to be dependent on men financially which led to boys' education over girls'. Without quality education, there are fewer opportunities opened for girls to advocate their rights, they aren't able to speak up for themselves, which results in being looked down upon, and are considered as weak and useless in today's society with a majority of men. Even though there are few amounts of girls who received an education, they're forced to drop out because of one of the main issues, pregnancy. After giving birth, their chance of going back to school is insignificant due to their expected job of being nurses, not educated.
More than 130 millions of girls did not go to school today. Many issues that prevent them from studying included family, costs, stereotypes, traditions, distance, education infrastructure, lack of resources, dangerous and unhygienic environments in the third world countries. As of 2017, nearly half a billion women are not able to read. Compared to boys, nearly 1 in 4 girls in the world are neither employed nor in education or training.
